Four Team Members, Four Words for 2026

Each of our team has chosen a single word to guide our focus and intentions for 2026. These words are more than resolutions; they are lenses through which we aim to enhance our lives and, in turn, the care we provide to you.

NORA Quintal Calva, PT, DPT

For Nora the word is "Joy" because so often, as a woman, her attention is all concentrated on taking care of others (children, patients, family, etc.) She finds that she rarely focuses on her own experiences. "In 2026 I want to make sure I am taking time to engage in my own experiences of joy, as well as manifesting that for others."

GENVIEVE Richter, PT, MPT, DPT

Genevieve chose "Positivity" because 2025 was a challenging year for everybody for many reasons. "I think putting some positivity in on our relations with people, in our attitudes, and our approaches is going to be my focus for 2026." Bringing positive spins on small, daily interactions could be a personal counterweight to the large negative events that are out of our control.

TARA SANFORD, PT, DPT, WCS

Tara is going with "Intention" because she wants to have intention and reflect on her underlying intentions for why she does things. She also wishes to reflect on if she has realistic expectations for her intentions. "Am I doing something out of kindness and love?" She desires to "make sure that I have intention in what I do in my days."

BIANCA STARR, MSc & MA

Bianca’s word is "Stillness." Technology has exponentially sped up the pace and complexity of life. "We, both societally and individually, seem to be breaking under the strain of constant and varied types of stimulation vying for our attention."  The stress of this has cascading impacts on our health. In the analog era that preceded the advent of cell phones, we had more time to process information and mental and emotional moments of stillness could arise in daily life. Now we have to create these crucial moments of stillness for ourselves, whether it be by turning off devices or leaving them behind completely.

These words:

  • Intention

  • Joy

  • Positivity

  • Stillness

represent our shared commitment to growing as individuals and as a team.

We believe that by nurturing these qualities within ourselves, we can bring a more present, compassionate, and balanced energy to your care.

We invite you to consider: what might your word for 2026 be?
